Silent Sentinels Secure Civilians and Skaters from the Shadows

Updated: Mar 4, 2019

Each winter hundreds of thousands of visitors flock to New York City's to enjoy the Bank of America Winter Village at Bryan Park. Skaters take to the ice sometimes several hundred at a time enjoying the thrill of outdoor skating in the midst or midtown skyscrapers. As with any area in the city or any public activity that brings together large crowds the NYPD ESU and Counter Terrorism Units stand in the shadows ever at the ready. Perhaps the next time you find yourself in one of these large public gathers take a moment to stop and offer up thanksgiving to the men and women of the NYPD.
