Opioid Epidemics Collateral Damage

A father and his boy, just stopped for gas. A gas station attended just showed up for work. Their lives ended in an instant early Tuesday morning as Jason Vanderee, 29, of Glenwood in Vernon Township, believed to be overdosing on drugs, hit a guardrail and plowed into a Delta gas station, crashing into two cars, law enforcement sources told NBC New York. First responders administered Narcan, a nasal spray designed to reverse an opioid overdose, to Vanderee at the scene and he was take to the hospital in stable condition. According to the Passaic County Prosecutor's Office Vanderee was arrested Tuesday night, he was charged with three counts of first-degree aggravated manslaughter; three counts of first-degree death by auto while driving intoxicated within 1,000 feet of school property; three counts of second-degree death by auto; possession of a controlled dangerous substance; possession of hypodermic needles; and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Three innocent, decent, hardworking people killed in the blink of an eye due to the selfish acts of a heroin addict.
