NYC Rings in Year of The Pig with Fireworks

NYC's celebrated the Chinese New Year, The Year of The Pig, with a fireworks display created by the famous Grucci family of Long Island. The pig is the 12th and last of the Zodiac signs.

The New York Metropolitan area is home to the largest and most prominent ethnic Chinese population outside of Asia. The Chinese American population of the New York City metropolitan area was an estimated 893,697 as of 2017. The New Year actually began as of Sundown on February 4, 2019 but celebrations continue throughout the month.
