The series is of Acrylic paintings inspired by both Switzerland and the United States spanning from the street of the St. Bernard Pass in Berne to the streets of New York City.
Originally from Tennessee, Kelly Fischer has lived in Switzerland for the past thirty years. She maintains strong connections in both countries, spending equal time at her studios in Berne and Memphis. Fischer's paintings have been featured at numerous galleries and exhibitions, including Art Basel, Miami, the Austrian Biennale, and the Venice Biennale. Aside from art, Fischer has published eleven childrens books, including The Most Beautiful Color of All, and is the founder and former head of the English Montessori School of Berne.
The show is free and open to the public during normal business hours M-F at the Swiss Consulate General located on the 30th floor of 633 Third Ave. in Manhattan. Well worth the trip to see the deep and intricate display of color and emotion on display here.
